My beautiful log cabin in the country is the perfect place for two people or a whole family to enjoy being together in a tranquil setting. Enjoy a sunset from the swing or rocking chairs on the front porch. Have a cook-out on the back porch using the gas or charcoal grills. Or, just watch the songbirds at the feeder. Don't forget to feed them. There's sunflower seed in the can on the back porch.
I created a badminton-volleyball court. How about a game of marbles or maybe, horseshoes? The croquet set is in the little barn. The hammock will probably be up in good weather. Indoors I have collected quite a few games. The books on the rotating shelf at the end of the sofa cover a wide variety of interests. Why don't you pop some corn and curl up on the sofa.  There is an old fashioned stove top popper under the stove and corn in a jar in the fridge.  You'll find the kitchen fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, full sized fridge, and my eclectic collection of kitchenware.
Faye made the queen bed in the bedroom-put a nice quilt on it. There's a quilt on the queen bed in the rocking horse bedroom too. The antiques look nice against the old wood walls and floors. That painting by the fireplace is a primitive that my mother painted a while back. The VCR is on the loft. It is connected to a satellite dish.   That sofa pulls out into a queen sized bed. The leather sofa in the great room hides a queen sized bed as well. Extra sheets and towels are in the linen closet. More blankets and pillows are in the cabinet by the dining table. The phone is over there by the stairs.
If your group is larger, I have just completed restoring a railroad caboose on the property which can accomodate a couple or a couple and a child.http://www.GuestCaboose.com
Now, I want to tell you about our area. This is a beautiful area of
Virginia. You can see the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east. The famous Natural Bridge is just 2 miles down the road. Historic Lexington, where General Robert E Lee and Stonewall Jackson lived, is only 11 miles up the Lee Highway. There are horse drawn carriage rides through town. Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University are here. You can watch a cadet parade at 4 PM on Fridays at VMI.  The O. Winston Link Museum, featuring the photographs of the last days of steam on the N&W, just opened in Roanoke (35 Miles) and is just wonderful.  Information: http://www.linkmuseum.org

There is much more to do than I can tell you here. You might want to look at our visitors center site for a complete listing of the many things you can do here http://www.lexingtonvirginia.com . I put information brochures on the table in the great room. Send me an e-mail or call about reserving my cabin. I monitor the phone until around 8 P.M.
